Richard A. Nagengast, 67, of Great Falls, A Man of Nature, passed away with his loving family at his side on September 26, 2013.Richard was born in Fort Benton, Montana on November 29, 1945 to Clement Michael and Ethel Elizabeth (Galarneau) Nagengast. He attended the College of Great Falls and received a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry. He married G. Angela McLean in 1969, they settled in Great Falls and he began his career teaching. Richard served in the Army from 1971-74. During his career he received a Masters of Science in biological sciences from the University of Montana. He taught science at the secondary level in Great Falls, Montana and Las Cruces, New Mexico for 34 years; positively influencing the lives of thousands of students.When he wasnt teaching he enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and collecting rocks. He also loved gardening and had an incredible green thumb. He moved back to Great Falls in 2006 after the passing of his wife, Angela, to be with his family and to watch his grandchildren grow. Richard is survived by his brother, Charles Nagengast; sisters Mary Davison, Patricia Bolstad, Leone Cloepfil, and Marilynn Uhart; daughter Katherine (Jason) Pentz; son Andrew (Courtney) Nagengast; grandsons Jordan and Henry Pentz, and Branson Nagengast.He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem & Ethel Nagengast; brother Jerome Nagengast; sister E. Maxine Shiver; and his wife, G. Angela Nagengast. A celebration of Richards life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, from 5:00 to7:00 p.m. at 3205 15th Ave. S., Great Falls, MT.
