Dick was born on March 6, 1937, in Great Falls and raised in Sand Coulee, MT. He married his high school sweetheart, Louise, on June 8, 1957. Dick served over 30 years with a career in the Montana Air National Guard.
You could always find him on the football field and in the stands cheering for the Centerville Miners and being his granddaughter’s biggest fan. He enjoyed fishing, the Price is Right, camping, golfing, traveling, and especially riding his motorcycle with his group of friends from MANG and eating ice-cream and pizza! He was a member and all-around handyman at the Sand Coulee Methodist Church where he and Louise served many years. He also dedicated many years to the Sand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department. After retiring, he and Louise spent the majority of their time traveling as a second career with Laird Leisure Travel. He could be found making coffee, cleaning the bus, and being Bobby's right-hand man. A favorite travel location was Bello's AFB where they shared beautiful Hawaii with many friends and family.
Dick is survived by his daughters, Susan (Bill) McCullough of Floweree and Patty Vielle of Sand Coulee; son-in-law, Earl Vielle of Great Falls; 5 granddaughters, Morgan Kujala, Kylie McCullough, Madison (Patrick) Maphies, Ciara McCullough, and Cecilia Vielle; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Elliot Grey; and a brother Russel Kujala of Great Falls. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; parents, Richard and Evelyn Kujala; and brother, Ron Kujala. Memorials can be made to Eagle Mount Therapeutic Recreation, The Farm in the Dell (406-437-1972) or donor's choice.
