Richard Dick Driskell, 70, of Great Falls, made his transition June 17, 2013 at Peace Hospice.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the University of Great Falls Chapel. A reception will followin the UGF Commons.Burial of ashes will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Veterans Section with military honors. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Dick was born on December 2, 1942 in Shelby, Montana to William and Dorothy (Hoffman) Driskell.He entered the Marine Corps at the age of 17, serving in Cuba during the Cuban Crisis and also on a ship off the coast of Vietnam.Dick married Marcia Petch on June 24, 1967 in Dutton, MT.Dick worked for the Anaconda Company, International Harvester, Great Falls Transit System and finally Dixon Brothers until he retired.He loved fishing, camping, reading, woodworking, and hunting.Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He received great comfort from his dog, Gizmo Fritz.Dick is survived by his wife, Marcia Driskell of Great Falls; children Dairen (Jennifer) Driskell of Belgrade, Darlette Rae Driskell of Hawaii, and Devin Driskell of Great Falls; brother Kenneth Driskell of Great Falls; sisters Pat (Les) Vincent of Belgrade,Audrey (Joe) Saltmar of Pittsburgh, Kathy (Don) Biehl of Belgrade, and Karen (Mark) Paul of Great Falls; grandchildren Tahnee (Robert), Chase, Kristan, Danny, and Kalen; and great-grandson, Easton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Diskell; special aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Snizzle Fritz.Memorials are suggested to the University of Great Falls, 1301 20th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405, the Ursuline Centre, 2300 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401, or Peace Hospice 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
