Richard “Dick” Gaskins, 92, of Great Falls passed away on June 27, 2021. He was born on May 8, 1929, in Booneville, Iowa to Floyd and Charlotte Gaskins. Dick married Wilma Lovett in 1948 and spent 66 happy years together. Most of his life was spent in Iowa. Upon retiring after many years of working at Firestone, Dick and Wilma spent numerous years traveling the country in their RV. Before making Arizona their new home. After Wilma’s passing, Dick spent the remainder of his life in Montana. During his lifetime, Dick especially loved playing horseshoes, camping, fishing, and dancing. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Richard Jr; brothers, Floyd Jr, Joseph, Donald, Robert; sister, Carolyn Carlson; and grandchildren, Cynthia and Justin Gaskins. Dick is survived by his sons, Floyd (Toby and Nancy) Great Falls MT, Gary (Sherri) Johnston, IA, Mark (Patrick) Maricopa, AZ, Mike (Becky) Polk City, IA; brother-in-law, Bob West Indianola, IA; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles in Great Falls on July 8, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. August 14, 2021, at Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, IA. A celebration of life to follow at Cherry Glen Picnic Shelter #5 in Polk City, IA.
