Reverend Phillip Caldwell went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 19, 2022. He was a “Renaissance Man” from humble beginnings and a pillar in the Great Falls community where he was founder and Pastor at Mount Olive Christian Fellowship Church for over 40 years. Reverend Caldwell, affectionately called Pastor Caldwell, had a distinguished military career, achieving the highest NCO ranking of Chief Master Sergeant. He served in Vietnam receiving a bronze star for his service before retiring from the Air Force (Malmstrom Air Force Base). Post military, Pastor Caldwell was a Life Insurance Agent for Lincoln Insurance, as well as the greater Great Falls community. He advocated for Social Justice and diversity awareness and was on several local government and State of Montana committees working closely with mayors and governors. Pastor Caldwell established the first NAACP chapter in Great Falls and was instrumental in the recognition of Martin Luther King Day as a State holiday. An athlete in his own right, he umpired softball and baseball, and refereed basketball and football at the NCAA Division 1 and high school levels. He is forever adored and survived by his family, friends and Mount Olive Christian Fellowship family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister; daughter; and his beloved wife of 62 years, Mac Caldwell. Please join his family and friends in the celebration of his life and legacy at his funeral service at Mount Olive Christian Fellowship Church on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. or via live stream on Facebook (https://m.facebook.com/100852009960264).
