Raymond “Kent” Droz, aged 74, passed away peacefully in his home on June 21, 2024. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved living in the state of Montana. So much so, that he owned and operated Kent’s Taxidermy in Great Falls after retiring from 20 years in the United States Air Force. He had the biggest heart and never knew a stranger, always making room in the boat for friends, new and old. He never parted ways with a friend without giving them some tomatoes, smoked fish, or venison. His immense love was not only for people but for animals as well. In his life, he loved many cats, dogs, and even a hedgehog. He was known to his family as “The Dog Whisperer.”
Kent was married to the love of his life, Carol, for 49 years. They have a son, Thomas Droz of Wasilla, Alaska; and a daughter, Dawn Zuris of Great Falls, MT. Both his children shared his love for the outdoors, people, and animals. His proudest moments were when he was fishing with his grandchildren, Katelyn, of Great Falls and Caleb, Sawyer, and Penelope of Alaska.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, Roger (Sandy) of Port Angeles, WA which he made a point to visit every summer; son, Thomas (Monica) Droz; daughter, Dawn (John) Zuris; and grandchildren, Katelyn, Caleb, Sawyer, and Penelope. He will be missed by many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda.
