Polly Kimmerle, 91, of Great Falls, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from natural causes at a local assisted living facility.A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Susan Otey officiating. Schnider Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.Polly was born December 4, 1925 in Great Falls. She graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1943. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life including an aircraft mechanic at East Base, Jakes Auto Supply, Pats Upholstery, and Great Falls Tent and Awning. Then for 40 years, Polly and Peg Dahme ran Peg and Pollys Upholstery.She enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She was the first Powderpuff Derby Race winner. Her interests included softball, bowling, hunting, fishing, camping, cross country skiing, and coaching girls softball. She also loved dogs, enjoyed playing Pinochle, feeding the birds, and doing woodworking.Polly is survived by numerous nieces; nephews; and many special friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Francis Kimmerle; siblings Mary (Leo) Leifester, Ruth (Ben) Davis, Harry (Mary) Kimmerle, Wilma (Art) Forsman, Fran (Walt) Tuss, and Pete (Rose) Kimmerle; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Mary Flanagan.Pollys family would like to thank the staff of Peace Hospice, Golden Eagle Plaza, and her friends at Soroptimist.
