Peter A Oberg, 67, of Great Falls, a retired orthodontic dental technician and navy veteran died of cancer at his residence on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.A funeral liturgy will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 201 44th St. S. on Sunday, March 4th, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. Peter is survived by his wife Ann Oberg of Great Falls; daughters Christine (Steve) Simmons of Issaquah, WA and Susannah Oberg (Rob Rusignola) of Missoula, MT; son Andrew (Karen) Oberg of Missoula; sister Jean Ruckey of Moline, IL; brother Richard (Pam) Oberg of West Swanzey, NH; and three grandchildren Aimee Lorenz, Brendan Oberg and Hendrik Oberg.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Carl Oberg, Jr.Peter was born March 4, 1944 to Carl and Ellen (Horvath) Oberg in Rutland, Vermont and served in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. On August 22, 1964, Pete married Ann Nord in Great Falls. Pete owned Obergs Orthodontic Laboratory since 1975 and worked with orthodontists throughout the USA and various dentists overseas.He was a strong proponent of his profession and helped several people get into orthodontic technician schools.Pete enjoyed hunting with his children and grandchildren, fishing, skiing, traveling, golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially on birthdays, holidays and family reunions. He had a special love of wildlife and enjoyed spotting deer when driving the Montana highways.
