Peggy Steed

Peggy Ann (Ridder) Steed, 55, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away on December 31, 2013 while visiting family after a brief illness at a Great Falls hospital."public" visitation will be at Schnider Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service and burial will take place in Ohio. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Peggy was born on April 26, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas to Alvin Edward Ridder Sr and Rose Mary (Kimminau) Ridder. She married Jim Steed in Great Falls, Montana. He was in the military and they were stationed in Alaska, Las Vegas, Germany, and finally to Ohio where they settled in 1992. Jim retired from the military in 1999. He passed away in 2010. Peggy worked at a military base in Ohio as a computer assistant the entire time they lived there. She started a career at MAFB working at the commissary and worked for the civil service until her death.She had cancer at the age of 18 and never had kids. She loved the shopping network and her cocker spaniel dogs. Peggy was lonely and lost when Jim died, he was her whole life. She wished to move back to Las Vegas in her retirement.Peggy is survived by her brother Al JR (Margo Mazzetta) Ridder; sister Mary Golt; and nephews AJ Golt and William (Luisa) Golt; and their sons, Johnathan and James Golt.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim; parents Alvin and Rose Ridder; sister Rose Walker; and brother-in-law Maurice Hurst.
