Peggy Lee Blyth, 91, of Great Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015.Honoring her wishes, no services are planned.Peggy was born March 13, 1924 in Fort Benton, MT, the only child of Mary Paulson and Peter Lee of Montague, MT. Her education included the Blackrock Country School and Geraldine High School where she graduated in 1941. She continued her education with an Associate of Arts Degree from Colorado Womens College in 1943, followed by a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the University of Montana in 1945. Peggy received a teaching endorsement in 1958 from College of Great Falls and a Masters in Education in 1973 from Montana State University. Peggy taught science and math for one year in Geraldine, MT before marrying George Alton Blyth on December 28, 1948, in Great Falls, MT, where they lived. They had three children; Robert (Constance) Blyth of Idaho Falls, ID, Janet (Dave) McFarland of Carmen, ID and Barbara Woith of Great Falls. She taught at Great Falls High School until her retirement in 1985.She was an avid card player belonging to a pinochle group for over 50 years. Her love of reading prompted her to be a member of several book clubs. Retirement brought her the opportunity to partner with Barbara and her husband, Wade in Sallys Flowers, and to travel throughout the world. When traveling with her family, she was always the teacher stopping to explore museums, parks and various points of interest along the way. On the death of her parents, Peggy assumed the management of the family homestead near Montague, MT.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law, Wade.She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Peggy to the McLaughlin Research Institute, 1520 23rd St S, Great Falls, MT 59405, "public" Library, 301 2nd Ave N, or charity of your choice.
