Pauline (Polly) Franjevic, 87, passed away of natural causes on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Benefis Peace Hospice in Great Falls.Her life will be celebrated at the University of Great Falls Chapel Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery and a reception after. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Polly was born on August 24, 1925 to Nick and Angie Popovich in Great Falls, Montana. Because her father died at a young age, she did everything to help her mother out, caring for her two younger siblings, Dorothy and Robert, as they made ends meet.Polly graduated from Great Falls High School in 1943. She received good grades, good enough for college, but her life was interrupted by a young, army air corpsman stationed in Great Falls following World War ll. She married Jack N. Franjevic in January of 1946. They settled in Great Falls, then Grinnell, Iowa and finally back in Great Falls where Jack was a Professor of Fine Arts at the College of Great Falls. They raised five kids during this time.Polly was a wonderful homemaker and supported Jack in all he did. Over the years, she also worked as a bookkeeper, both in Iowa and Great Falls. She was also employed in various school kitchens for the district food service.Polly was an avid reader, loved to dance, and roller skate (in her younger years) meet relatives and friends for coffee, attend concerts and plays, go on chaotic family camping trips, listening to the music of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Doris Day, the Carter family, and Tony Bennett.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack who passed away in 1992; parents Nick and Angie Popovich; infant brother, Albert; and two very special nieces, Darlene Malone and Arlene Popovich.Polly leaves behind five grown and grateful children, daughter Pam (Dave) Nardinger and their daughter, Alyssa (Adam) Eslahpazir; sons Jeff Franjevic, Joel (Sharon) Franjevic and their daughter, Nicole, Jerry Franjevic, Justin (Sheri) Franjevic and their children, Jenson and Grant; two great-grandchildren, Izzie and Jack Eslahpazir. She also leaves behind her sister, Dorothy (Edward) May; brother Robert (Anna) Popovich; nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends she embraced throughout her long and wondrous lifes journey.Memorials in Pollys name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26 Str.
