Patricia D. "Pat" Raunig

Patricia D. “Pat” (McDermott) Raunig, 78, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 of natural causes with family by her side at Hospice Peace House. Patricia was born on December 8, 1940 in Anaconda, Montana to Leo E. and Gladys McDermott, Sr.She was the oldest of six children.Pat graduated from Anaconda High School in 1959 and attended Vo-Tech school for several years in Great Falls. She married Arthur “Art” Raunig in 1962 in Great Falls and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2012 with family and friends.Pat and Art had two daughters. Pat worked for Safeway Stores, Great Falls Public Schools as a teacher’s aide, and finally as the Secretary for the First Presbyterian Church.After working 28 years there, decided to retire in 2004. Pat liked to camp and fish with the family.She also loved to knit and crochet; creating many afghans, winter scarves, hats, mittens, and socks for all of her family, friends and donated prayer shawls to the First Presbyterian Church. Pat is survived by her two daughters; Gayle Raunig-Corrigeux of Great Falls and Karen (John) Grasso of Florence, MT; granddaughter Sarah Corrigeux.; brothers Leo McDermott, Jr of Missoula, MT; Gary (Jean) and Alan McDermott both of Great Falls and sister Helen (Rich) Ricci of Helena, MT; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “GG”. She was preceded in death by her husband Art, brother Paul, and her parents. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all, but know we will see you once again in eternity. We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses that cared for Pat; especially the many caring people at the Hospice Peace House.They were very kind to her.
