Patricia "Pat" J. Knottnerus

Patricia “Pat” J. Knottnerus passed from this life in the Big Sandy Medical Center of Montana and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ into paradise on May 17, 2019. Born in Havre, MT, on May 16, 1936, to Clarence and Margaret Allderdice, her early years were spent on a farm outside the Big Sandy community attending a country school until her family moved into town. In 1954 she graduated from Big Sandy High School as valedictorian and received a nursing degree at Macalester College and St. Olaf College in Minnesota. She returned to her home state of Montana and started to raise a family of her own. Then she lived in several locations before retiring in her hometown of Big Sandy. Pat was a good friend of many and kept in touch with friends, family, and relatives through phone calls and, especially, by sending birthday cards with her trademark birthday balloons sent so faithfully year after year. Her children and grandchildren called her blessed. She was dearly loved by her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, and others. Wit, eccentricity, feistiness, and speaking her mind marked her life. She had a gift for making a delicious meal out of whatever was at hand. Pat wished to be remembered as a beloved child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made for His glory. Pat was preceded in death by her brothers Jim Allderdice and Jack Allderdice and her grandson Dean Bartkoske. She is survived by her children, Scot Bartkoske, Tom (Michelle) Bartkoske, Theresa (Steve) Egleston, and Lynn (Jamie) Bartkoske; brother, Ed (Clara) Allderdice; sister, Fay (Stan) Danielson; step- children, Tony (Sheila) Bartkoske, A.J. (Nancy) Bartkoske, Bart Bartkoske, and Sandie (Doug) Wollan; grandchildren, Joshua Bartkoske, Leo Bartkoske, Lorie Meyers, Tina (Robert) Parks, Brett (Lily) Bartkoske, Brad (Paula) Bartkoske, Becky (John) Huntington, Jamie (Adam) Toombs, Melody Wollan, Angie (Mike) Barr, Melissa (Tyler) Francis; great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Big Sandy Medical Center for their kind, gracious and patient care.Memorial contributions may be made to Great Falls Rescue Mission and Your Network Of Praise. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Big Sandy Community Church of God at 2:30pm (377 2nd Ave, Big Sandy, MT 59520).
