Patricia Pat Ann Andrus, 83, joined our Heavenly Father on April 19, 2014, in Great Falls, MT, surrounded by her family.Mass will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church in Fairfield on Monday, April 28 at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following at the Parish Center.Pat was born on March 18, 1931 to Patrick and Helen Scanlon in Chicago, IL. As a young woman, Pat moved to Oakes, ND, where she met and married Gene Squint Andrus on July 3, 1950, in Aberdeen, SD. To this union, four children were born. The family moved to Belt, MT and settled in Fairfield, MT in 1962. Pat worked at Fairfield High School as the librarian and study hall supervisor for 12 years. She then worked at the local drug store for many years where she enjoyed interacting with the customers.Her favorite past time was supporting all of the Fairfield Eagles athletes from K though 12. It was a very special moment for her when she was recently honored by the Fairfield Girls Basketball Team on Senior Night for her unconditional encouragement. Mom was a wonderful cook, an avid reader, a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and the Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans, crossword puzzles and playing endless hands of May I? with her family. Her humorous Irish wit entertained us all her life.Pat is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Lee Olson of Helena, MT and Joyce Andrus and Arnie Pike of Kuna, ID; grandsons Shaun Olson of Littleton, CO and Shayan Andrus of Boise, ID; numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. She will be very missed by them and her many friends.She was preceded in death by her husband Squint; daughter Patty; and son Michael.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.
