Oscar T. Dolan was born on July 13th, 1923 near Crosby, North Dakota to Aslak and Josie Dolan. In his early years, his parents spoke Norwegian in the home. He graduated from Crosby High School and went on to obtain an accounting degree from the University of North Dakota. He attended graduate school at the University of Michigan, obtained his CPA and joined the Internal Revenue Service.He met the love of his life, Florence Vinge, as she was the nurse taking care of his mother who was dying of breast cancer. After their marriage they spent some time in Helena and Glasgow prior to settling in Great Falls in 1958 where Oscar became a senior agent in the Internal Revenue Service specializing in corporate auditing. Early in his career he tracked money laundering activity of out of state mobsters. He developed a reputation of being tough but fair as he audited most all of the major Montana corporations as well as other significant individuals and companies both in and out of the Montana. Oscar spent the better part of an early teen year in a body cast at the hospital in Fargo as a failed attempt to treat congenital hip dysplasia. Despite that, he never portrayed himself as having any debility. He eventually had complex surgery with the creation of a hip joint at the Mayo Clinic in his 70s. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florence of Great Falls; his sons, Tom (Shelly)Dolan of Billings, Paul (Cindy) Dolan of Great Falls, Doug (Stacy ) Dolan of Whitefish; daughter Kathy (Kent) Meyer of Kalispell; brother Erling Dolan of Crosby, North Dakota; sister Alice Tiegan of Long Prairie, Minnesota; grandchildren Jessica Dolan of Playa Del Ray, California, Peter Dolan of Portland, Oregon, Kyle Dolan of Great Falls, Jacob, Jenny and Mathew Dolan of Missoula, and Katy Dolan of Whitefish; and numerous nieces and nephews.Oscar was preceded in death by his brothers Stanley and Joseph Dolan and his sister Mary Ann Nordhagen.Memorial are suggested to Benefis Health System Foundation, PO Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406 or Concordia College at Moorhead, 901 8th St S, Moorhead, MN 56562-0001Condolences may be posted at www.schniderfuneralhome.come.
