Neil Edwin Snyder, age 82, passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by family at Peace Hospice on January 13, 2022. The memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Highland Cemetery. Neil was born on July 11, 1939, in Great Falls, Montana to Carl J. and Lucille Snyder. He was a 1957 graduate of Great Falls High School. He attended the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with a degree in pharmacy from the University of Montana in 1962. He married his study hall sweetheart, Sharon Mari Thorson, on June 3, 1957, in Helena, Montana at First Presbyterian Church.They raised four children and were married 64 years. Upon graduation from pharmacy school, Neil operated Northside Drug in Great Falls until 1980.In 1970, he opened Snyder Drug in the Northside Shopping Center. Sharon and Neil enjoyed working side-by-side and developing lifelong friendships with customers over the years. Neil is remembered as an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and ranching. He loved his time at the farm, Milligan, Wolf Creek, and Garnet. He was one ram away from the Sheep Grand Slam ¬¬-- he just missed the Desert Sheep. He enjoyed going to Many Glacier in Glacier National Park. Listening to Bob Seger music was one of Neil’s favorite pastimes and he loved attending his concerts. He belonged to the Great Falls Lions Organization and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Montana State Pharmacy Association in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; and four children; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.His daughters are Kimberly (Henry) Woloszyn, Kirsty (Steve) Shanahan, and Marla Snyder. His son is Mike (Gail) Snyder; The grandchildren are, Lacee (James) Lewis, Sarah Woloszyn, Kellyn (Edward) Schroeder, Taylor (Kimberly) Shanahan, Jeff (Kylie) Hall, Kelsie Snyder, Scott Hall, and Mari Hall; The great-grandchildren are Sammy, Danica, Brady, and Lainee Lewis, Connor and Paige Shanahan, and Lena Hall. He is also survived by his two favorite companions, Roscoe and Mikey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucille Snyder; brother, Carl B. Snyder; and sister, Lois Snyder. He lost his close friend and business partner of 50 years, Gene Chieslar, just prior to his death. Memorial donations can be given to Maclean-Cameron Animal Shelter and Faith Lutheran Church. “It goes by quick so enjoy the ride.” - Neil Snyder
