Mike Rustin celebrated life and could often be heard belting out a song in the middle of a store. He battled cancer for 2-1/2 years and went to work up to the week he passed. He will be remembered by everyone that knew him as a passionate and incredibly strong man. Mike knew where he was going and made sure all of his loved ones were taken care of before he left.In his high school years he was a very accomplished athlete in football as quarterback; basketball; and baseball. He passed up college scholarships for football in order to serve his country, which he did for 22 years. Although he requested an assignment near the ocean, he was sent to Malmstrom AFB working in Missile Control and facility maintenance. His talent and aptitude for electronics kept him stationed at Malmstrom his whole career. He will be missed greatly by those he left behind. He loved Montana and just could not understand why anyone would choose to live elsewhere. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, boat, raft, hike, and camp.Mike is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Jeff, Jeremy, and Jennifer; his step-children, Quincy and Alex; his brothers, Matt and Mark; his sister Ann; and his parents, Guy and Cateen. He was too young to go, but his fire burned hotter and brighter than most during his time on earth, and he is no doubt one of the strongest and most beautiful voices in Heavens choir right now.
