Michael Haman, 82, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 from complications due to cancer at Benefis Healthcare.A celebration of life ceremony will be held Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge with a reception following. A private burial will take place at a later date. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Michael was born November 22, 1932 in Berwick, North Dakota to Jack and Kathrine Haman. He was the second of twelve children and grew up on the family farm.He raised two children, Lee and Belinda from a previous marriage. He met and later married Gloria in 1981. They joined their two families and he became a step-father to Glorias three children, Lance, Lisa and Lori.At the age of 13, Michael graduated the 8th grade and left the family farm to begin working. He joined the Army when he turned 18, and was a paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg. After a short stint working for the Great Northern Railroad, Mike was hired on with the Anaconda Company in Great Falls, MT, where he retired after 21 years. He then worked numerous labor jobs which led him to becoming an independent contractor specializing in steel siding and windows.Michael was an active member of the Community Church of God. He also enjoyed taking part in many organizations including the Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge. During his 43 years with the Moose Lodge, he held many different offices including governor and took part in the Moose Legion and Ritual Team. Michael made history as the only member to receive 3 prestigious awards in 1 year. Some of his favorite past times included Bingo, bartending, Pinochle, bowling, shooting pool, working construction, driving tractor, ranching, camping, teaching others, and spending time with friends and family.Michael is survived by Gloria Haman, his wife of 33 years; siblings Margaret (John) Trainor, Tony Haman, Bob Haman, Vicky (Carl) Smith, Jack (Leslie) Haman, and Kathy Haman; children, Lee (Sue) Haman, Belinda Wolf, Lance (LaDonna) Darby, Lisa (Clint) Winters, and Lori Robinson; grandchildren, Amber (Scott), Sabrenna (Jamey), Candace, Samantha (Terry), Savana (Thad), Cassidy, Steve, Brittany (Brandin), Tiffany (Corey), Noelle, and Heather; and great grandchildren: Jarrod, Jasmine, Mason, Connor, Kailer, Gage, Taya, Kaisyn, and Braleigh.Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Kathrine; siblings, Sebastian, David, Peter, Simon, and Christ; and grandson Brent.Condolences may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com
