Melvin "Mel" Duane Ferrin

Though we are saddened by the passing of Melvin (Mel) Duane Ferrin, 88, on July 6, 2024, we still wanted to rejoice, for he has triumphantly returned to our Heavenly Father. Please join us on July 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the United Church of Christ (1st Ave North, Fairfield, Montana) as we celebrate his life through our Lord Jesus Christ with Pastor Rex Heckel officiating the service.

Mel was born on May 25, 1936, in Pierson, Iowa and is survived by his wife, Ramona Ferrin; three children, Rick (Charla) Ferrin, Susan (Jeff) Beck, and Linda (Alan) Johns; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Father, Leonard Ferrin; Mother, Buddy Ferrin; and Sister, Lenna Bernhardt.

Mel lived in Fairfield, Montana for most of the last 60 years, where he retired in 1995 from the Sun River Electric Co-op as a Master electrician.

Besides spending time with this family, Mel enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, horseback riding, packing into the wilderness, and playing games of all sorts (especially cards).
