Mary Katherine Perry, 84, formerly of Cut Bank, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 3, 2015.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Northwest Family Fellowship, 300 23rd Ave N. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Mary was born on March 31, 1931 in Choteau, Montana to William and Madeline (Edgar) Shock. In 1933, her father was killed in a truck accident. Her mother later remarried Laurie Loney and Mary and her brother, Bill took his last name.She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1949. She married Dean T. Perry in December 1949. After they were married, they lived in Cascade and Great Falls until 1954 when they moved to Cut Bank to work for Art Pardue. Dean and Mary would later lease and then purchase the ranch from Pardue. There they ran sheep and cattle, farmed and raised their three sons. In 1975, she and Dean purchased the Shelby Stockyards and a feedlot.Mary spent her ranch days cooking, feeding bum lambs, calves, chickens, rabbits, and gardening. She made many meals for hired hands and family. After Deans death in 1980, Mary stayed on the ranch for several years and then moved to Great Falls. There you could find her reading, quilting, cross stitching, knitting, or stamping. She was always crafting something beautiful. Mary shared her love of reading with her grandchildren and always had a book for them. She also traveled worldwide with her friends and family.She worked throughout the years at the Mitre Box in Cut Bank, Western Livestock in Great Falls, and spent several summers at the Park Motel in East Glacier, it was definitely one of her favorites. She was active in Tri County Cowbells, P.W.M. Glacier Chapter #58 O.E.S., and hosted many bridge parties with her friends.Mary is survived by her sons, Lynn (Patty Ann) Perry and Rodney (Marilyn) Perry; grandchildren Ryan (Karnell) Perry, Jana (Kyle) Perry, Jaime (Wyley) Miner, and Candace (Xander) English; brothers Bill (Pam) Loney, Ross Loney, Clay (Cherry) Loney, and Cleve (Cindy) Loney; sister Sharon Ruple; brother-in-law Denny (Donna) Perry; sister-in-law Delores Perry and many great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean T. Perry and son Dana C. Perry.The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Toole County 4-H Council, 226 1st St S, Shelby, MT 59474.
