Marshall Roos, age 53, passed away from post covid pneumonia on Monday October 25th, 2021, at Benefis hospital in Great Falls. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dutton American Legion. Marshall was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. His boyish smile was genuine and welcoming. He had a firm handshake that was sincere. He was easy to love and generous with his love. He will always be remembered for his kindness and thoughtful ways. Marshall, born Marinus Roos, was born in Chilliwack, British Columbia, or as he called it “Coldslap,” on October 1, 1968, to Marinus (deceased) and Cori Roos. He was number 7 of 9 children. He was raised and worked very hard for his parents on a dairy farm. He attended and graduated from Timothy Christian School. After graduating high school, he worked in a greenhouse and started working construction as well. He married his first wife, Julia in British Columbia. They had three children, Sherry, Brandon, and Tamara. The family moved to Power, Montana in September of 1998. He continued to work construction after coming to Montana. Julia and Marshall later parted ways. In March of 2003, after a hard day's work building the Dutton Public Library, Marshall stopped across the street at Mike’s Club to have a beer. There, his destiny would be changed forever. He sat next to the gal that would, less than a year later, become his wife and mother of their daughter, Samantha. A mixed family and many adventures began. Marshall was a loving stepfather to Matthew and Aubree. Marshall was always ready to drop everything to take care of his family. He was always driving a kid to school, sporting events, or running a forgotten backpack to someone. The family enjoyed many fun camping trips, road trips, game nights, amazing family parties, and even a fun-filled trip to St Thomas. Marshall enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching hockey, and the Green Bay Packers. He loved babysitting LeMarcus and Jadelynn, his grandchildren. Across the board Marshall was always someone who people wanted to talk to, and he always had a shoulder to lean on. He was a great listener, and his smile was contagious to anyone that had seen it. Marshall is survived by his loving wife, Katheen (Kate) Roos; his six children Samantha Roos, Aubree Hitchcock, Matthew Hitchcock, Sherry (Trent) Kauer, Brandon (Mia) Roos, Tamara (Darby) Roos, and acquired daughter, Jazmyn Duffner; mother, Cori; eight siblings, Ken (Lisa) Roos, Ernie Roos, Terri (Stephen) Elgersma, Jenny (Vern – deceased) Greyn, Wilma (Chris) Denhertog, Jack (Ingrid) Roos, Tim (Amy) Roos, and Peter (Katrina) Roos; eight grandchildren, Gage, Larkin, Ember, Karter, LeMarcus, Jadelynn, Harmony, and Zade; and multiple nieces and nephews. Marshall was a loving husband, Dad, Opa and a friend to all. He will be greatly missed.
