Marlis Ann Burian, 68, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schnider Funeral Home and a private family service will be held at a later date. Marlis was born in Roseau, Minnesota September 27, 1950, to parents, Marvin and Irene Johnson. She loved cooking, baking and canning. She worked in numerous restaurants, both as a waitress and a cook, but cooking was her passion. For a while she even had her own restaurant in Middle River, Minnesota. One of her favorite things to make was potato dumplings (an old family favorite). Her family and friends will certainly miss her cooking, as she was very good at it. Marlis is survived by her mother, Irene Johnson; son, Johnnie Green; daughter, Debbie Copeland; sisters, Marlene Babcock, Barbara (Alan) Herrig, and Charemon (Don) Marney; brothers, Leonard (Linda) Johnson, Peter (Laurie) Johnson, Clyde Johnson and Lester Johnson; brother-in-law, Curt Underdahl; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one uncle, Leon McNabb; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Johnson; nephews, Joshua Johnson and Mitchell Johnson; niece, Krista Marney; sister, Beverly Underdahl; paternal grandparents, Pete and Julia Johnson; maternal grandparents, Leo and Lottie McNabb; numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins. Marlis will be deeply missed by all who got to know and love her.
