Her father was a Great Northern Engineer and Margie grew up with a train case in her lap, as she and her mother regularly traveled her fathers route. The highlight being a trip to the San Francisco Worlds fair.Marjorie was raised in the Catholic faith receiving her first communion and confirmation at St. Judes in Havre where she attended elementary school. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1944 and attended the University of Montana, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. During these years she met a handsome Naval Officer, Dale Stapp. Their immediate attraction was the unique sense of style they both possessed. In 1946 they were married at St. Anns Cathedral. Together their life work was creating and owning four womans retail stores in Montana. The largest and most well-known being, Dale Stapp Fashions. Their forty year retail career involved working and traveling with their daughters, Sidney and Sally, enjoying loyal employees and customers and serving the community. Marjorie was the perfect compliment to this world of fine fashion. After a happy marriage of 47 years, Dale passed away and Marges focus became her expanding family and a devoted group of women friends including her sisters in Chapter I PEO.Her community involvement included the PTA, the YWCA board, UGF Guild, Great Falls Junior League, Civ-Aires, Salvation Army Advisory and Executive Board. She was a legacy member of the Meadowlark Country Club. Marjorie was a 60 year parishioner of St. Josephs Parish Church. She was authentically beautiful in her person and every presentation.
