Marjorie Akrep, 96, of Great Falls, died unexpectedly at home on April 7, 2015.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Marjorie was born on July 21, 1918 in the Syracuse, NY area. Overcoming difficult childhood circumstances to graduate from normal school, she held a variety of jobs including filing fingerprints for the FBI in Washington, D.C. during the war, where she met J. Blessed with good health, she continued to drive and live independently.Marjorie was a talented gardener, seamstress, cook, a science fiction fan, and loved the Red Sox and the Patriots. During her youth in Boston, she attended many Red Sox games, and happily watched their first game of the season on the computer this year. She was generous with her time, enjoying church activities, serving coffee at Eagles Manor regularly, and she loved to laugh and talk. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 2007, and by a sister and a brother.Survivors include children Sharon (Will) Crough of Great Falls, Katherine Sweet of Saco, Maine, and Mike (Kathy) Akrep of Greenfield, Mass.; grandchildren Robin Crough and Jackson Crough, and Anne Webb; and niece Suzy Felder. We will miss her optimistic spirit and her laugh.
