Marie Barbara (Perkins) Corbitt, 81, of Great Falls, a retired cashier, died of natural causes on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her home.No services are planned.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Marie was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Frederick and Elizabeth Perkins on April 25, 1931.She was the oldest of six siblings and was a proud Canadian.Our mother was the most amazing woman.She was funny, stubborn, independent and an all around good person.On June 20, 1953, she married her husband, Dennis Corbitt and went on to have six children, one of whom had passed at childbirth, her name was Anita.Her remaining children are Dennis, David, Johnny, Debbie and Jimmy.Marie worked at Wards for 26 years and was the head cashier.She loved her job.After her retirement, she got in to crafts and loved taking care of her family.A few years after her retirement, she suffered from colon and breast cancer, and then a stroke.But through all that, she stayed upbeat and very independent.Our mother and Dads wife will be greatly missed.We will never forget her and will celebrate her life everyday.Marie is survived by her husband, Dennis; sons David Corbitt and John Corbitt both of Great Falls, and Dennis (Betsey) Corbitt and Jimmy (Sheila) Corbitt both of St. Ignatious; daughter Debbie Corbitt of Great Falls; sisters Carol, Doreen, and Audrey; grandchildren Jeremy, Amy, Jason, Ryan, Trish, Matthew, Sean, Joey, Timmy, and Katie and a baby girl on the way; and numerous great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Perkins; siblings, Grace and Fred; daughter-in-law Linda Corbitt; and daughter Anita.Condolences for the family may be left at www.schniderfuneralhome.com
