Marie Brauer

Marie Ann Poochie Brauer went to meet Elvis in Heaven on Saturday, November 14, 2015.Marie Poochie was born on December 3, 1934 to Clifford and Agnes Goodau. Clifford passed away prior to her birth and she was raised by her step-father, William Vagt. She graduated from Great Falls High School and shortly after graduation married Donald K. MacCallum. From this union they had three children, Linda, Don Jr. and Robyn. They later divorced and in 1962, she married James Rivette. From this union, they had two children, David and Debra. Marie and Jim later divorced and around 1978, she married John Brauer. After 10 years of marriage, they also divorced.Mom was always on the go. She worked at the National Laundry for over 35 years, during which time she raised her 5 children. She always made sure we had wonderful Christmases and birthdays and always did her best to give us what she could. She never ceased to amaze us.Mom loved to dance. She particularly loved Elvis. She was never able to see him in person, but the next best thing was meeting and watching an Elvis impersonator which made her sound and act like a teenager again. She also enjoyed her many travel escapades around the world with her long-time friend, Bill Seabrook.After retiring from the laundry, she was a caregiver and also babysat her great-grandchildren until she became ill. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.Marie is survived by her sister, Ruth Forbes; children Linda (Dave) Haack, Don MacCallum, Robyn (Stephen) Bush, David Rivette, and Debra (Randy) Van Horn; grandchildren Brian, Billy and Jennifer Haack, Heather Helmbrecht, Heidi and Hillary Vukasin, Holly Fulcher, Brandi, Cody and Christi Van Horn, Scott MacCallum and Jesse Rivette; and great-grandchildren Trevor, Kylie, Andre, Unique, Bradley and Aiden.She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father; and brothers Clifford, Donald and Ronnie.At her request, no services are scheduled. A family get together will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Momma has left the building.
