Marian Engle

Marian L. Engle, 66, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016.A celebration of life will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Christian Church with Pastor Gary Hart officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Marian was born August 28, 1950 to Edwin and Clara (Hay) Engle in Lemmon, South Dakota. She and her family moved to Butte when she was 1 year old. She had a total of seven brothers and sisters. Her brother, John passed away as a baby.She moved to Great Falls in 2000, with her son Richard. She raised her son through all of lifes hardships, as well as helping to raise the neighborhood kids.Marian had a long 10 year battle with cancer with her sister, Linda caring for her and spoiling her rotten throughout the entire time. A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped Linda to care for her at Sletten Cancer Institute.Her family brought her the most joy, especially during the holidays. Decorating for Christmas was a major project that involved the whole family, carrying on the family tradition with multiple boxes of decorations that was started by her father. Christmas to her was a magical time of the year.Marian is survived by her son, Richard (Leah) Mercer of Great Falls; brother Ed (Connie) Engle of Butte; sisters Linda Engle of Great Falls, Betty (Bernie) McKinney, Karen (William) Galpin, and Dorothy (Gary) Tallon all of Butte; grandchildren Christopher and Joshua Mercer of Great Falls and Jonathon Kurt of Radcliffe, Kentucky; great-grandchildren Skyla, Alisha, Lilly, and Haidenn Mercer all of Great Falls; nephews Jason (Kim) McKinney of Colorado, and Shawn (Tammy) McKinney, Corey Tallon, and Bernie (Brandy Kilgore) McKinney all of Butte; nieces Julie Blue of Ohio, Tammie Engle of Butte, Tabatha (Allen) Lingenfelter of Sheridan, and Heather (Stephen) Harris of West Virginia; and several great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers John and Robert Engle; and grandson Eric.
