Margaret (Wilson) Hayes

February 2, 1925 — November 15, 2018

Margaret Irene (Wilson) Hayes, 93, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. Visitation is at 1:00 pm and entombment at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, both at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Margaret was born on February 2, 1925 in Great Falls to Gordon and Irene Wilson. She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Great Falls High School. She married Ellsworth “Bud” Hayes and they had three children together. Margaret worked for the US Government Supply Depot at Malmstrom during WW II, with her cousin Irene. She then worked as a secretary for the principal at Franklin Elementary School, a bookkeeper for Central Floor Covering and a bookkeeper for Bud Hayes Texaco, Bud Hayes Union, and Bud Hayes Auto. Margaret enjoyed arts and crafts, oil painting and ceramic painting, which she won prizes for at the State Fair. She was a Legion of Mary and a 55 Alive Member, and volunteered at the Great Falls Visitor Center. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she folded weekly bulletins with her good friend, Eunice Eckhart and they enjoyed Wendy’s chili and frosty’s together. Margaret is survived by her daughter Janene Filarecki; sons Robert Hayes and Richard Hayes; granddaughters Shandon Hayes and Danielle Hayes; and a great-grandson Romen Harrison Hayes-Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ellsworth “Bud” Hayes.
