Margaret Bratz

Margaret Gibbons Schmid Bratz died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at her home in Fairfield of natural causes.A memorial service will be held at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 1617 6 Ave N, Saturday, September 8, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.She was born February 4, 1928, in Lewistown, Montana to Lena Ruth (Evers) and James Gibbons. She was the oldest of nine children and grew up on the family ranch north of Winifred in the Missouri River Breaks. Margaret graduated from Winifred High School in 1947 with her sisters Laura and Doris. She started college in Billings. She eventually graduated with a Masters degree in special education. She taught school for 40 years in Central Montana, Arizona and Canada. In 1950 she married William B. Bratz; they had four children. She later married Richard Schmid; they had one child. Margaret is survived by her children Mary Anne (Robert) Brown, Dan Bratz (Deanna), Gary Bratz, James Bratz and Russel Schmid; her siblings Laura (Bob) Annala, Doris Blazicevich, Alice Gillespie, Ellen (Jim) Fischer, Nancy (Wilson) Stulc, Marion (James) Hunt, James (Connie) Gibbons, Tom (Mary) Gibbons; her grandchildren Jason (Lori) Brown, Rebecca (Jonathan) Balyeat, Nick (Abby) Brown, Rob (Melanie) Brown, Brandi Bratz; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents.Memorials can be donated to the charity of your choice.
