Marcus Voeller

Marcus J. Voeller, 79, passed away on April 11, 2014 after a brief illness in Great Falls, MT.A vigil service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. His funeral liturgy will also be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Marcus was born September 26, 1934 near Silva, North Dakota to Valentine and Frances (Volk) Voeller. Marcus was raised on the Voeller family farm and attended school in Silva. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. After marrying Betty Vetsch on April 7, 1959 in Rugby, ND, they moved to Great Falls, MT. They were married for 20 years, and raised 3 children. Marcus worked at General Mills from 1959 until his retirement in 1991.In 1980, Marcus met June Wildish Osterman at a Catholic singles group. It was love at first sight, and they were married on November 5, 1980. Their life together was filled with their favorite hobbies including gardening, crafting, woodworking, fishing, camping and travelling. Marcus recently explored Alaska; a place where he and June had dreamed of visiting together. Most of all, Marcus and June loved spending time with their family and friends. In 1996, they retired to Seeley Lake, MT and then in 2007, to Nine Mile Falls, WA. Marcus returned to Great Falls in 2013.On June 21, 2012, after almost 32 years of marriage, Marcus lost his beloved and beautiful wife, June. His heart was broken that day. Although our hearts are now broken, he is finally at peace. Joined together again in heaven, Marcus and June are holding hands, dancing and tending Gods beautiful gardens!Marcus is survived by his son, Mark (Willow) Voeller and daughters, Sharon (Rory) Kohles and Cheryl Voeller, all of Great Falls, MT, Pamela (Greg) Fosse of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Tamera Walters of Deer Park, WA, Jeanie McMaster of Ripley, MS, and Laurie (John) Cole of Fallbrook, CA; his grandchildren, Theresa, Austin, Porsha, Jesse, Joshua, Nicholas, Jessica, Gabriel, Amanda, Jeremy, Dustin, Johnny, Jenny, Lacy, Chaz and Destiny; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his wife and parents, Marcus was preceded in death by daughter Cindy Hyndman; and all of his siblings, Walter, Joseph, Sylvester, Roy, Frank, Johann, Lawrence, Bernard, Edward, and Kathryn Voeller, Rosalie Zeek, Eva OConnell, Ann Hoeppner, and Clementine Dosch.The family suggests memorials to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
