Marjorie "Marge" Ann Zuhoski

On the evening of September 3, 2022, the heavens gained another angel, and the earth became dimmer as our mother, Marjorie “Marge” Ann Zuhoski, left this world to reunite with her family in heaven. She was 84 years young at the time of her passing.

A rosary will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.  Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Marge was born to James and Mary Nedved on April 11, 1938, in Great Falls, Montana. She was raised in Great Falls and graduated from Central High School in 1956. On September 14, 1957, she married Michael Zuhoski and together they raised their six children in Belt.

Mom grew up Catholic and through her Christian faith, she became the heart of our family and a community caregiver. During her years of running a childcare business, Mom provided love and comfort to each child in her life. She would take care of the kids during cold seasons, so their parents did not miss work. If she could make life a little easier for them, then her heart felt complete.

Mom spent several years working at the Belt School cafeteria. She, along with the rest of the lunch team, made sure each child was fed and happy ensuring the children were well nourished to learn their schooling. Mom and Dad also served the residents of Belt and Armingtion areas by delivering the Great Falls Tribune for 24 years.

As if nurturing inquisitive little minds wasn’t enough, Mom also gave her time to the 4-H program. Through the years, she would help the 4-H group organize annual gift baskets for the elderly and taught cooking and baking lessons. Serving over 22 years with the program, she was named the 4-H leader of the year.

Returning to her childcare business, Mom was able to spend more time with Dad upon his retirement and they both created a loving temporary home for all the children before they graduated off to kindergarten.  Mom cared for so many kids over the years that eventually, she would start caring for their kid’s children.

Upon retiring from childcare, Mom found another opportunity to provide care through the Belt Valley Golden Agers, where she won the Senior Citizen of the Year award.

Above all, Mom’s faith was unwavering.  She was a member of the St. Mark’s Parish Altar Society for many years. Her devotion to the Catholic church was often reflected by her lips silently moving as she recited the Rosary daily. Her faith held her through the heartache of losing her father shortly after becoming a parent. As her faith continued to grow, she suffered the devastating loss of her oldest daughter, Theresa. Mom and Dad leaned on their faith and each other to overcome this tragedy. Losing her own mother deepened Mom’s faith, allowing her to be the pillar for the family when she lost our Dad after 56 years of marriage. Thank you, Debbie Vogt and Father Rodrigo, for helping Mom receive her Sacramental rites.

Mom loved spending time with her eight grandchildren, sharing her joy for crafting with each of them, just as she did with her ‘adopted children’ during her childcare years. She was lucky enough to meet eight great-grandchildren and was looking forward to the ninth coming in November. Family was everything to Mom and she made sure to instill this value into each one of us. This family value will be the glue that will allow us children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to heal and carry on for generations.

Marge is survived by her family, to carry on her legacy, children, Tom Zuhoski of Belt, Mike Zuhoski of Butte, Pati (Donald) Foynes, Pam Zuhoski, and Paula Loving, all of Helena.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, who were her joys, Paul Michael Foynes, Tracy (Meaghan) Zuhoski, Tyler Zuhoski, Tucker (Amy) Zuhoski, Vanessa (Freddy) Ky, Angie (Chris) Beuthien, Kim (Brandon) Thurman, and James (Marissa) Loving.  Also, missing her dearly will be the ones who gave her such joy in her final years; her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Maverick Ky, Liam and Presley Beuthien, Lorelei Thurman, Teagan and Xzander Loving and Ryker Foynes.  She is, also survived by her brother, Bob (Carol) Nedved of Spokane, Washington, brother-in-law, Don (Sharon) Zuhoski of Great Falls; aunt, Susan Morris of Lewistown; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Zuhoski; daughter, Theresa Zuhoski; parents, James and Mary Nedved; parents-in-law, Pete and Agnes Zuhoski; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Don) Rowekamp; and uncles, Bob Morris and John Morris.

We would like to thank Dr. Libby Lake who took great care of Mom over the years, and Dr. Jorge Castriz who provided Mom the best treatment possible her last couple of days.  Our gratitude goes to Great Falls Clinic nurses, especially Critical Care Nurse, Wayne, who helped with Mom’s transition.
