Madelyn M. Moye

January 23, 1922 — July 21, 2018

Mary Madelyn was born on January 23, 1922 to Gertrude and Edward Deveny in Ottumwa, Iowa. Her younger years were spent in Iowa, but during high school she and her mother moved to Hysham, Montana where her mother taught school. It was at this time that she met her future husband, Francis Moye. They were married in June of 1947 and resided in Great Falls. She went to work at Carl Wiseman as a bookkeeper. They moved to Sidney, Montana in 1955 and then back to Great Falls in 1957. Madelyn went to work for The Great Falls Leader, in distributing of the paper and in charge of the paperboys. In 1963, she went to work for Montgomery Wards in the credit department and stayed there until they closed. After that, she went to D. A. Davidson's and stayed until her retirement. Madelyn loved to dance, travel and fish, many a trip was taken to White Sulphur Springs to fish the creeks on the Walter's land. In the winter, you could find her dancing while her husband Francis played in the band. She loved her family and would play endless games of kismet with her grandsons. She also loved to play pinochle and was in a club that met every week. During her later years, she lived at the Eagles Manor and would go down to play bingo and just visit with everyone. She never met a stranger and always had something for someone that was hungry. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Vandelac of Great Falls; grandsons Ron (Dawn) Brinkman of Belt and Randy Brinkman of Great Falls; and great-grand son Bryson Brinkman of Portland, OR. She's one of the angels now, dancing in the sun and swinging on a rainbow, enjoy the adventure Mom, we will miss you but know you are always with us.
