Lucille T. Roath, 85, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died of natural causes on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at a local hospital.Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sun River Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Grace Lucille (Thayer) Roath was born April 13, 1926 in Cody, Wyoming, the youngest of five children. Lucille lived on a ranch 36 miles up the south fork of the Shoshone River above Cody, Wyoming. She attended the Valley School for seven years, Ishawaa School for a year, two years of high school in Cody, Wyoming and her last two years of high school in Red Lodge, Montana.In 1947, she moved back to Cody, where she met her husband, Ernest D. Roath, and they were married on April 13, 1948 in Roberts, Montana. They settled back in Montana in 1951. Ernest died in 1991.Lucille taught Sunday school in Luther and Hobson, Montana. She was president of the Sun River Valley Senior Center for two years, as well as a director there. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years. She was involved in RSVP for 25 years. She enjoyed hiking, fishing, gardening, and playing cards. She was a member of the Methodist Church.Lucille is survived by her children, Roy (Nancy) Roath of Fort Collins, Colorado, Lee (Vicki) Roath of Great Falls, Sherrill (Bill) Busche of Great Falls, Carolyn (Dan) Ginnaty of Great Falls; grandchildren, Dan, Erin, Alvin, Rob, Donna, Chris, Zach, Ryan, Alicia and Chantell; and 19 great-grandchildren.Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; her son, John; and her siblings, Ruth Roberts, Lois Harbaugh, Robert Thayer and Winifred Barnhart.Memorials are requested to go to the Sun River Valley Senior Center, Fort Shaw, MT 59443.
