Louis A. Rodriguez, 78, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017.A memorial service will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Louis was born on July 23, 1938 in Taos, New Mexico to Joe and Una (Willburn) Rodriguez. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended college at Long Beach City College. He had a boilermaker apprenticeship at Long Beach Shipyard. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, he became a certified boilermaker at Long Beach Shipyard for 10 years. He moved to San Diego and worked for SUPTSHIP for a total of 33 years.He was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and volunteered at the Emilee Center, Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, and St. Judes.Louis enjoyed fishing, making leaded glass lamps and windows, and fine woodworking, chairs being his favorite.He is survived by his wife, Pat of Great Falls; daughter Lisa Rens of Escondido, CA; sons Edward (Patricia) Rodriguez of Escondido, CA and David (Jamie) Rodriguez of Green Acres, WA; brother Charles Rodriguez of Taos, NM; and two grandchildren, Rogan and Brody.Louis was preceded in death by his parents.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Great Falls Animal Shelter.
