Louis Belcher, 91, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Great Falls, Montana as a result of Pancreatic Cancer.Lou was born on a humble homestead just south of Wolf Point, Montana on December 30, 1925. He was the last surviving sibling out of his parents and his seven siblings.Lou served during WWII in the Navy and thereafter found his great love of the Lord. He graduated from Grand Canyon College in 1959 and went on to receive his Masters in Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City. He planted five churches, pastored at many more, and witnessed to countless cowboys behind the chutes with Cowboys and Horsemen for Christ for the last 28 years. At the age of 88, he wrote his autobiography, The Way of the Cross. Lou is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Belcher; sons Max and Louis Jr. of Centennial, CO; daughter-in-law Donna Belcher of Centennial, CO; grandchildren Shane Belcher of Ft. Collins, CO, Cindy McKey of Prosper, TX and Ashley Longaker of McKinney, TX; great-grandchildren Jordan and Hailey Belcher, Emily and Austin McKey and Dylan Longaker.He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Daniel in 1967.The funeral service will be held at Westside Baptist Church, 1300 6th St. NW, Great Falls, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with refreshments to follow. A private family graveside will take place at a later date.
