Lois Laverne Watson

Lois Laverne Watson, age 86, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 19, 2018 at Benefis Peace Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. A private family service will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Lois was born at the Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, MT on February 1, 1932 to the late Phillip Porro and Dora Porro. Lois was the 3rd born of 4 daughters, Doris, Phyllis, Lois, and Barbra. She was raised in Black Eagle and graduated from Great Falls High School. Later in life, she met and married Robert Charles Watson and the couple made their home in Great Falls. Lois dedicated the majority of her life as a homemaker and raising 4 children, Bob, Dan, Brian, and Karen. She had a love for baking and cooking; especially her famous banana bread. She loved children, especially spending time with her kids and grandchildren. Her hobbies included collecting angels, Precious Moments figurines, beanie babies and ceramic dolls. Lois had an obsession with everything associated with the colors of pink and turquoise. She loved flowers and she especially loved her collie, Duchess. Lois is survived by her two sons, Dan and Brian (Laura) of Great Falls; daughter Karen Thovson (Randy) of Scottsdale, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Tyler (Elyse), Brady (Shannon), Teresa, Tara and Tavia (Brandon); 3 great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Leo, and Booker; two sisters, Phyllis and Barbra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Watson; son Robert A. Watson; and sister Doris. Donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.
