Lloyd "Andy" Andersen

Lloyd Andrew Andy Andersen, 94, of Great Falls, died Sunday, January 12, 2014. Services will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.He was born on June 11, 1919 in Hanks, North Dakota to Andrew and Katherine Andersen. His family moved to Great Falls when he was five, where he was raised and educated. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad for almost 30 years, after that he worked as a real estate broker in Great Falls until his retirement in 2011.Andy married Betty Creekmore and she passed away in 1994 after 55 years of marriage. He later married Ruth A. Welsh on January 29, 1995.He was a member of the Eagles Club, a life member of the Elks, Masons, Moose, and VFW Post 1087. He loved to sing, dance, and spend time with his family and friends.Andy is survived by his wife Ruth A. Andersen of Great Falls; daughters Lucille Hatfield of Yuma, AZ, Marsha (William) Branch of Portland, OR, and Loyan (Steve) McComb of Tampa, FL; step-daughter Phyllis (Dean) Kindred of Great Falls; step-sons Richard Highwood, Steven (Michelle) Highwood, and Timothy (Carolyn) Highwood all of Great Falls; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; brothers, Bernard and Mervin Andersen; and sister, Luella Nelson.Memorials may be given to the Great Falls Senior Citizens Center, 1004 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT 59401.
