Lexie Marie Caldwell McIntosh, 73, of Billings, died on Thursday, March 28, 2019 with family by her side at St. John’s Nursing Home in Billings, MT.Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Lexie’s Life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls. Lexie, the youngest of 4 children, was born on July 18, 1945 to Clifford and Varona (Poole) Caldwell in Blackfoot, ID. She was raised on the family dairy farm in Pingree, ID.She attended Pingree elementary, Thomas Jr. High, and Snake River High School, graduating in 1963. On January 8, 1965 Lexie Marie Caldwell married David Wallace McIntosh in Idaho Falls, ID. The couple had three children: Nikki, Scott and Camille. Through the years the family moved often due to David’s employment in the construction business. Eventually, they settled in Great Falls, in 1974.David and Lexie had a trucking business and opened McIntosh Grain and Feed in 1978.They also owned and operated grain elevators in both Power, and Stanford, MT.The business was sold in 1990. In 1992, they moved to Whitehall, MT where they owned and operated an RV park, carwash, laundromat and motel. In 1994, they sold the business and semi retired in Great Falls. Lexie was one to always keep busy. After “retiring”, she worked as a medical coder and part time at an accounting firm. David and Lexie loved to travel by motor home to Alaska, Canada, Arizona and most all western states. In 2004, they moved to Billings due to David’s illness. He passed away March 24, 2008 due to dementia. Lexie enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, fishing and spending time with her family and dog, Bozlee. She was quick witted and blunt which lead to her having a great sense of humor. Lexie prided herself on being self-sufficient and hardworking. She raised her children to be as well.She was very proud of all her family’s accomplishments. Lexie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Tom Caldwell. She is survived by her children, Nikki (Thomas) O’Brien of Tacoma, WA, Scott (Kasie) McIntosh of Chinook, and Camille (Marc) Osborn of Billings; grandchildren, Chadd Rogers of Moses Lake, WA, Angie (Richard) Renik of Lockwood; and Madisen and Ian McIntosh of Chinook; two great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Killian; sister, Carolyn (Wally) Walberg of Great Falls; brother, Brent Caldwell of Pingree, ID; her trusty companion, Bozlee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
