Leroy O'Connell

LeRoy H. OConnell, 65, of Stockett, Montana passed away on April 27, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side.A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Deacon Bill Medved presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.LeRoy was born August 23, 1950 in Great Falls to Harold and Ethel Mickie OConnell. He attended Franklin Elementary and CM Russell High School. He studied auto body repair at Job Corps Center in Anaconda, MT. He worked at Haggerty and Busy Body Auto Repair. He was part owner of E&E Alignment for many years. He went to work at Nygard Auto Body, and later retired.He married Charmaine Pepos on May 16, 1981 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.LeRoy was a volunteer firefighter at Stockett Fire Department for 30 years. He loved restoring cars and was talented in restoring cars that were badly damaged to like new conditions. He enjoyed his family and his grandchildren, teaching his grandson how to play poker, and sneaking candy to his grandchildren to take home.He is survived by his wife, Charmaine OConnell of Stockett; sons Shawn (Amy) OConnell and Caley OConnell both of Great Falls; daughters Jennifer (Cory) Purves, Shilo (Denny) Thompson both of Great Falls, and Dr. Sara (Aaron) OConnell- Mayernik of Helena; brothers Bill and Bob Flesch both of Great Falls; sister Charlotte Brutosky of Helena; 10 grandchildren, Hannah, Colton, Evie, Andrew, Baby, Hailey, Logan, Miriah, Gavin, and Skylar; mother-in-law Beverly Pepos; and two close friends Dave Marzolf and Nate Bean.
