Leroy “Butch” John Logan, aged 80, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Great Falls, Montana.
Leroy was born on October 26, 1943, to his parents LaVerne and Virginia (Pardis) Logan in Miles City, Montana.
He attended grade school in Brockway, Montana and graduated from high school in Circle, Montana in 1961. Following high school, Leroy attended Montana State University and earned a master’s degree in science and home economics. He also joined the United States Army in the 181st airborne and received an honorable discharge.
Leroy worked as a machinist and a family therapist. He also spent 46 years as a member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He spent his time building and racing cars at Great Falls Speedway. Leroy was an outdoor enthusiast and spent his spare time hunting, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by his former spouse, Sheila K. Metts; daughter, Lisa Kay (Mark) Goodwin; son, Jonathan Lee (Diane) Logan; uncle, John E. Logan; sister-in-law, Arlene Logan; sister, Lorraine Koppenhoefer of Illinois; five grandchildren, Tyler Goodwin, Kara Goodwin, Kayla Logan, Bridger Logan, and Kasie Logan; and five great-grandchildren, Nora Goodwin, Landon Goodwin, Allen Goodwin, Bennet Goodwin, and Kit Logan. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne LaVane and Virginia Louise (Pardis) Logan; and brothers, Dale, Gary Bond, and LaVaine Logan
Per Leroy’s request there will be no services, but the family will gather for a celebration of life in Brockway, Montana next summer.
