Leo Fred Grismer, 91, of Great Falls, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leo was born on April 23, 1926 in Minot, North Dakota to Jacob and Barbara (Voeller) Grismer. He attended school at St. Leo Catholic School in Minot, ND and Great Falls, MT. Leo worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Operator Engineers Local 400. Leo married Lenore Grismer on August 4, 1945 in Belt, MT. He was a member of the Great Falls Motorcycle Club and Ponderosa Snowmobile Club. Leo was a CB enthusiast, Grizzly “Griz,” and enjoyed outdoor fun at Lincoln and Holter Lake. He also regularly attended a coffee clutch at the Barrel. Leo is survived by his wife, Lenore of Great Falls; son LeRoy Grismer of Ulm; daughters Bobbie Whempner and Sheila Partain both of Great Falls; sister Marie Gebert of Great Falls; 7 grandchildren, Don Keading, Jackie Buskirk, Ken Grismer, Jodi Decker, Frank Grismer, Jennifer Partain, and Isaiah Partain; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Emma Dolph; brother Hank Grismer; grandson Vernon Grismer; great-granddaughter Lavay Grismer; son-in-law Jeff Partain; and Dr. Joe Murphy.
