Lawrence Reyman Volk, 83, of Great Falls, died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Peace Hospice.A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Schnider Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery with military honors. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Lawrence was born on May 11, 1931 in Rugby, North Dakota to Walter and Elizabeth (Merck) Volk. He was educated in Rugby along with his 12 brothers and sisters. He entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at multiple bases throughout his career. On August 18, 1958, Lawrence married the love of his life, Marcella Voeller. He went to work for the civil service at the commissary at Malmstrom AFB and retired at the age of 67.He volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul and was always giving of his time to others. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed trips to Nevada.Lawrence is survived by his sons, Steve Volk, Alan (Lisa) Volk and Donny (Darla) Volk; daughter Diane (Ken) Noble; grandchildren, Kenny, Michael, Richard, Sydney, Jamie, Michelle, Melissa and Josh; and great-grandchildren Colter and Paisley.He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella.Memorials in Lawrences name may be made to Sletten Cancer Institute, 1117 29th Str.
