Lawrence "Larry" Daggett

Lawrence L. Larry Daggett, 69, of Great Falls, passed away on January 29, 2016.Larry was born in Great Falls, but was raised in Laurel, Montana. He graduated from Eastern Montana College with a BA in History and Music. He served in the Army (First Infantry Division and the 2/160th Infantry Ninth Division) during the Vietnam conflict from 1969 to 1971, and he was awarded the Purple Heart. He also served in the Montana Air National Guard for a total of almost 37 years of military service and retired as a Master Sergeant. Larry continued to be active in Vets4Vets group.Larry married Linda Schuler in 1972 and moved to Great Falls, where they raised two children, Carl and Lianne. He worked almost 40 years as a Cascade County Deputy Clerk and Recorder, genuinely enjoying his job and his co-workers.Larry loved to fish, hunt (especially on the family ranch near Columbus), and was a member of the local shooting club. He was knowledgeable about the stock market, and followed football closely. His other passion was singing, with 40 years in the Symphonic Choir and a member of the elite choir Montana Chorale.He is survived by his wife, Linda Daggett of Great Falls; son Carl Daggett, his wife Andrea, and grandchildren, Madison, Nathan, and Lauren of Missoula; daughter Lianne Breen, her husband Chris, and grandchildren Becca, Brady, and Mitchell of Riverview, FL.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Viviette and sister Inez Howeth.Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Schnider Funeral Home. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.Memorials may be made in Larrys honor to the Great Falls Rescue Mission, 326 2nd Ave S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
