Lawrence "Larry" Edward Chiotti

Lawrence “Larry” Edward Chiotti, 72, of Fort Shaw, passed away Friday, April 7, 2018. Larry was born October 4, 1945 in Conrad, Montana to Edward and Velma (Davis) Chiotti. He went to grade school in Sand Coulee and graduated from Centerville High School. He attended college at Wahpeton State School of Science in North Dakota where he received an Associate’s Degree. He then received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agri-Business from the College of Great Falls and Montana State University in Bozeman. He was also in the Army Reserve for six years. He went to work as a heavy equipment mechanic for 6 years before becoming a substation manager for 12-1/2 years in Fort Benton. He was then promoted to general manager in Great Falls for another 12-1/2. He and his wife purchased a farm in the Fairfield Bench area where he was a rancher for the last 22 years. Larry married Holly Osterman in Big Sandy on September 21, 1968. They have been married for 49-1/2 years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, dancing, horseback riding, ranching, and being with his family and friends. Larry is survived by his wife, Holly; daughters Laci (Mike) Bogden Frost, Kami (Erik)Chiotti Englebert, and Tarisa (Shane) Chiotti Scribner; son-in-law Randy Bogden; sisters Kaye (Robert) Moritz and Joanne Haaland; brother Richard (Kathy) Chiotti; two grandchildren, Taylor Bogden and Devon Bogden; and three stepgrandchildren, Michelle and Mindy Cooper, and Michael Frost. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Chalyce. Per his request, no services are being held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s name may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, PO Box 4777, New York, NY10163 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
