LaVerne McNaughton, 90, formerly of Butte, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, in Great Falls, MT.A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Anns Catholic Church in Butte. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Anns Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Butte, MT. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.LaVerne was born on May 24, 1926 in Butte, Montana to Bert and Mayme Foote. She graduated from Butte High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hennessys, Bertoglios, and the Port of Butte. LaVerne married Jack McNaughton in 1968 and they were together until his passing in 1970.Laverne is survived by her sister, Adele Burke; nieces Kathleen (Tom) Wilson, Donna (Mark) Miles, Darlene (Tim) Binkoski, and Maureen Shipton; thirteen great nieces and nephews; and nine great-great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; brother-in-law Don Burke; and nephew, John Burke.In lieu of flowers, donations in LaVernes name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.
