Lauren Alfred Williams, 81, of Great Falls, better known as Will or Willie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Peace Hospice.Born in Seattle, WA to Frank and Anna, Will was raised with two brothers, Marlin and Bob and his two sisters, Maxine and Geraldine. Before the age of one he was entered and won Seattles Cutest Baby Contest. He attended West Seattle High School and joined the Air Force in 1954, at the age of 19. While stationed at Shepherd Air Force Base in Texas, he met the love of his life, Mary Louise Caruso and on April 3, 1959 they were married. Two years later he started his family. The family traveled to Germany and many other bases until they settled in Great Falls, MT at Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1974. Will retired from the Air Force in 1976 after nearly 23 years of service. He began a new career spanning over 30 years working at Carl Weissman & Sons and Steel Etc. He developed many close friendships over the years and enjoyed working until he was no longer able.Will enjoyed many things in life such as bowling, fishing, decorating cakes, watching sports, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His life revolved around not only his own children, but to countless foster children that he cared for. The 4th of July was one of Wills favorite holidays and even though his wife, Mary was not a fan, this holiday drew together family, friends, as well as the police, on occasion.He was always the consummate host. His giving nature could be seen daily through his family, friends, co-workers and strangers. He had an uncanny way of making anyone feel welcomed and included. He had a quick wit and great sense of humor.He is survived by his two sisters, Maxine and Geraldine; his five children, sons Neal, Dale, John (Mary Margret), and Alan (Nene); daughter Anna (Erik) Storoy; and daughter-in-law Micky Williams. He also left this world with 17 loving grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, with a third on the way.Will was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; two brothers; and his mother and father.A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Deacon Bill Medved presiding.
