Larry K. Emmett, 78, of Great Falls, passed away March 11, 2019 at Highgate Senior Living with family by his side. A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. He was born September 16, 1940 to Howard and Vera Emmett in Great Falls, MT. Larry grew up in Carter, MT and graduated from Fort Benton High School in 1958. He attended Northern Montana College. He married LeRene “Rene” Dahlman on August 28, 1960. He managed GTA grain elevator in Loma, then went to work for the Melroe Manufacturing Plant in Fort Benton before taking over the family farm after his dad passed away in 1976. He managed the Carter Rural Water and Sewer District. He was an active member of the Carter Fire Dept., Carter Quick Response Unit, and Carter Methodist Church. He was also state president for the Great Falls Chapter Fraternal Order of Eagles. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rene; daughters Ronda (Jess) Anderson and their children Kalsey and Kolby and Kimberly (Patrick) Walker and their children Dylan, Derrick and Dalton, Troy (Brandie) Emmett, and his great-granddaughter Ava Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Judy; uncle Helmer, and granddaughter Sarah. Family requests donations be made to Carter Fire Department or Carter Methodist Church.
