Survivors include his sisters Karen Gallagher, Nancy Young, his sons Robert Evans and Mike Evans and daughters Angela Cahill and Kelly Evans and grandchildren Robert Cahill and April Ford (Cahill) and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other grandchildren. LaMonte entered the U.S.A.F in December 1951 serving in France, Libya and Japan. He received training in Aero Medical Technician, Occupational Health, Military Medical ENT, Flight Medical Surgeon Assistant with flight medical services. LaMonte married his beloved bride Sarah Dewey on March 19th, 1955 and started their family and relocating to no less than 6 other states and the country of Japan. LaMonte attained the rank of Master Sergeant and was the medical administrative supervisor for the flight medicine office. He retired from Malmstrom in 1971. LaMonte went on to receive his Associates degree in Accounting and partnered with his military colleagues selling real-estate. His positivity, hard work, and humor made him the perfect fit as a realtor and tavern owner. LaMonte was drawn into owning and operating the Bar-S tavern on the Belt Highway. LaMonte was a dynamic force as a business owner and operator. He was a cook, bartender, dishwasher and could do anything needed at any given time. The new Bar-S remains a family’s legacy passed down and one of which he remained a silent partner and continued to be highly influential for its continued success. When he felt things were slowing down he got into bail bonding to keep things interesting. We are comforted in knowing LaMonte is at peace, reunited with his beloved bride, the lord, and family and friends gone but not forgotten. LaMonte believed in supporting our military troops and taking care of those in need. The family of LaMonte Evans would like to encourage any donations be directed to the disabled vets or other memorials for veterans. A celebration of life for LaMonte and Sarah Evans will be announced at a later date. God bless mom and dad, god bless us all.
