Kenneth Enge

Kenneth R. Enge, 90, of Great Falls, a WWII US Coast Guard veteran, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Peace Hospice.Private family services are being planned for a later date. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Ken was born in Great Falls, the son of Nels and M.J. Jenny Enge. He married Shirley Stevenson in August of 1943.After serving in the US Coast Guard he and his wife returned to Great Falls where he worked as a meat cutter for UPPs Food Market. He went on to work for Phillips Refinery as a Lab Tech until health issues caused him to leave the lab. He then went to barber school and joined his brother, Gene at Midway Barber Shop. When Gene retired, he bought the shop operating it until he retired in 1987.Ken enjoyed fishing and spending time at Canyon Ferry Lake with his family; working on his yard; and helping his son, Rick at World of Time. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son and friend.He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley; sons Roby (Jackie) of New Lenox, IL; Rick of Great Falls; Ray (Teresa) of Idaho Falls, ID; and six grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mildred Talbott and Marjorie Moore-Warren; and brothers, Gene, Robert, and Gordon.Memorials may be sent to West Side United Methodist Church, 726 Central Ave W, Great Falls, MT 59404 or Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT59405.
