Kayla Taylor Olson

Kayla Taylor Olson, 20, of Great Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was born to Michael Olson and Kathy Recob on February 6, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kayla grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada attending Las Vegas High School until her sophomore year. She moved to Great Falls, Montana and attended the same high school her father graduated from, Charles M. Russell High School, earning the Heisey Award and graduating in 2015. On August 21, 2017, she married her husband, Devin Rockwell.Kayla was 8 ½ months pregnant with a baby girl, Charlotte Aurora at the time of her passing.She was eagerly awaiting her child’s birth and was determined to give her baby all the unconditional love and affection she could give.Baby Charlotte was born with no heart beat and unresponsive. The Benefis staff was able to get a weak heart beat and worked with Seattle Children’s Hospital to stabilize her tiny body enough for transport.She unfortunately passed away on January 18, 2018, with her father by her side. Kayla and Charlotte Aurora will be greatly missed by family and friends.She leaves behind her husband Devin Rockwell-Olson; father Michael (Jessi) Olson; mother Kathy (George) Recob; brothers Cody Olson and Brandyn Strait; grandparents Charles and Mary Olson, Leonard and Sharon Roffler, Lee and Carolyn Wastell; uncles and aunts Matt and Cristie Mitchell, Michelle Mitchell, Mart and Shannon Mitchell, Jerry and Cindy Waters, Dan and Cindy Dallas, Dan and Wendy Olson, Mark Olson, William and Nancy Recob; and many cousins. A viewing will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Schnider Funeral Home, 1510 13th Street South, Great Falls, Montana 59405. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Kayla Olson Memorial Fund at Montana Federal Credit Union, P.O.
